  • How Long Does a 3D Ultrasound Take?

This depends on which package you select. The FDA recommends scanning time to be around 30 - 45 minutes. The entire study will mix 2D, 3D, & 4D. 3D & 4D depends on many technical factors, including fluid around the baby, gestational age, placenta location, and size of the mother. The entire study cannot be done in 3D because the baby constantly changes position.

  • Are Elective Ultrasounds Safe?

Extensive studies over 35 years have not shown that ultrasound causes any harm to the mother or baby. Routine medical Sonos during pregnancy are an essential part of prenatal care. When done by registered sonographers, ultrasound does not pose any known risks.

  • When Is the Best Time to Schedule an Elective Ultrasound?

You may schedule an elective ultrasound at any stage in the pregnancy. If you want to see the baby's first heartbeat and movement, you may schedule as early as 7 weeks. A gender ultrasound can be scheduled as early as 14 weeks. 3D/4D Sonos are best between 28 and 34 weeks. We will attempt to give everyone a peek at the baby in 3/4D. Remember, ultrasound will look like the baby at that particular moment in gestation. 3D/ 4D ultrasounds in the 1st and 2nd trimester, the baby is a little skinny and small, but they are still beautiful and miraculous to see your little baby enjoying the womb.

  • Do I Need an Appointment?

Yes, all services are by appointment only. This is to maximize privacy and provide an uninterrupted ultrasound experience. We try to be accommodating, so please call us. We sometimes do have same-day appointments.

  • Can Elective Ultrasounds Replace Medical Ultrasounds?

No, elective ultrasounds allow you and your family to see the baby, its movements, and actions in the womb. It does not replace a medical ultrasound that is done to assess fetal health and well-being. Baby To Be only schedules elective ultrasounds with clients under the care of a physician or healthcare provider.

  • Is the Gender Ultrasound 100% Accurate?

No test is 100 percent accurate. So be wary of the business that says so! Each of our technologists is specialized and has over 25 years of experience. Our policy is not to tell you the gender unless we are absolutely sure. If, for some reason, we can not see the gender, we will give you a voucher to come back in one week, absolutely free.

  • What Can I Do to Be Best Prepared for My Ultrasound Session?

The best thing a pregnant mom can do is ensure you are adequately hydrated. This means drinking lots of liquids for several days before the session. This helps to increase the amniotic fluid around the baby, thus giving us a better "window" to image the baby. Being well-hydrated will provide you with clearer pictures. This is especially important late in the 3rd trimester as sometimes amniotic fluid naturally decreases. Also, if you can fill your bladder a little for the scan, this is helpful to visualize the baby better. Having a snack before you come may often get the baby moving around in different positions so we can see all of the baby and its personality.

  • Does Insurance Cover My Test?

Elective ultrasounds are done for entertainment and baby bonding purposes only. This type of ultrasound is not covered by insurance. We do not diagnose or scan for medical purposes.

  • Is There an Extra Charge for Twins and Triplets?

At Baby To Be Boutique, there is no extra charge for multiples. However, the number of pictures with each package is still the same as a singleton. If desired, for a $25 fee, we will give you additional pictures so you have plenty of each baby.

  • Can I Come for a Medical Ultrasound to Look At My Baby for Possible Problems?

Yes, with a physician order Baby To Be Boutique can do your medical ultrasounds.

  • How Many People Are Allowed to Come to My Session?

We generally welcome as many friends and family as you want. Let us know if there is an extremely large number so we can bring in some extra seating to accommodate your guests. Kids are welcome! With current Covid guidelines, we try to limit the amount to 6 additional guests other than yourself. Although don't be discouraged if you have a few more guests you would like to attend; just let us know beforehand so proper arrangements can be made. For the safety of everyone, please make sure all of your guests are healthy with no recent high-risk covid exposures.

  • Is Sneak Peek Clinical the Same as Sneak Peek Home Gender DNA?

Sneak Peek clinical is different than the home sneak peek test. The Sneak peek clinical DNA blood test is drawn just like the medical blood draw done at your doctor's office. It is drawn from a vein in your arm by a medical professional. Sneak Peek clinical is 99.99 percent accurate from 7 weeks gestation with a money-back guarantee. The sneak peek home kit is a finger stick test, and many precautions must be taken to ensure an accurate result. Sneak Peek Clinical does not have those problems, as it is a medical blood draw.
